Frequently Asked Questions

  • Yes, your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Amanah Safe Harbor Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

After completing your donation, you will receive an automated email receipt for your records. For donations exceeding $250, we will provide a formal written acknowledgment by the end of the tax year, as required by the IRS.

  • Your generosity directly fuels our mission to provide stability and support to those in need. We pride ourselves on financial transparency and efficiency; approximately 88% of every dollar donated goes directly to our core programs, including:

    • Housing Costs: Providing essential resources like security deposits, rental assistance, and temporary shelter to help individuals secure a safe place to live.

    • Building Materials: Supporting our community outreach and infrastructure initiatives by providing the necessary lumber, hardware, and construction supplies to build or repair safe housing.

    • Emergency Assistance: A portion of funds is reserved for rapid-response support for individuals in immediate crisis, ensuring no one is left without a safety net.

The remaining small percentage covers essential administrative and fundraising costs that allow us to maintain our operations and grow our impact safely and sustainably.

  • Absolutely! We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our mission and help us grow our impact.

  • Yes! We gratefully accept in-kind donations that align with our current project needs. We are particularly looking for new or gently used building materials (such as lumber, hardware, and tools) and essential household items.

Because our storage space is limited and our project requirements change, all in-kind donations must be approved and scheduled in advance.

    How to donate items:

    1. Send a Photo/Description: Email Support@amanahsafe.org with a brief description or photo of the items you wish to donate.

    2. Coordinate with Admin: Once reviewed, our administration team will contact you to schedule a drop-off time at our Sacramento location or coordinate a pickup if available.

  • Yes, you can! Making a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one is a meaningful way to celebrate their legacy while supporting our mission.

    1. Online: When you make a donation, you can include a note in the "Comments" or "Additional Information" section specifying who the gift is for.

    2. Notification: If you would like us to send a card or email to the honoree or their family acknowledging your gift (without disclosing the amount), please include their contact information in your note or email us at Support@amanahsafe.org.

    3. Special Requests: If you are setting up a dedicated memorial fund or would like to direct large-scale "in lieu of flowers" donations to the Foundation, please call or text us at (279) 269-4603 so we can help you coordinate.
